Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE
COVID 19 update 3/17/20
We feel all our patients and employees are a part of the Ruch family and will be doing everything to keep all as safe as possible during the coming months.
Most spread of the virus is felt to be due to either close contact (being within 6 feet of someone for an extended time) or from respiratory droplets – if you have these symptoms please see below and do not come into our office.
It is recommended to avoid crowded places and those that are sick. If you are a higher risk patient (older than 65 or with underlying medical condition) see the current CDC recommendations https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/high-risk-complications.html
President Trump 3/16 recommended no social gatherings over 10 people, trying to use drive thru/pick-up food from restaurants rather than eating in and working from home as much as possible for the next 15 days
Most patients who have COVID-19 will have a temp > 100.4 and/or respiratory symptoms such as cough or difficulty breathing – testing is now available more readily however resources are being prioritized hospitalized patients, older patients with medical conditions (such as heart disease, diabetes, etc) and healthcare personnel who have had close contacts with COVID positive patients
If you are mildly ill – at this time it is recommended to stay home and contact your primary care physician – if you do not have one you may call (844) 837-2433 for assistance from BMG. If you are pregnant and having symptoms along with concerns regarding your pregnancy (especially contractions) please call our office for instructions. It is still unclear how this virus will effect pregnant patients.
--IF you develop difficulty breathing, shortness of breath or persistent chest pain – then you need to be seen in an emergency room – call ahead and let them know you are coming and your symptoms.
If you plan on traveling within the United States please see the CDC for up to date information - https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/travel-in-the-us.html
